Capabilities · How it’s made
From artwork to roll.
Follow a job through the press. Your approved artwork goes down one colour at a time, gets a protective coat, is cut and slit, and comes off as finished rolls ready for your line.
Our press is planned for 2027. The press shown here illustrates the process; it isn’t a specific machine.

It starts with your file.
You send the artwork; we check it, set it up for the press and send you a proof.
Nothing is printed until you approve the proof. For labels, we also confirm the size, shape and which way the labels come off the roll. For lidding foil, we also confirm the print repeat and any marks your blister line reads. For film, we also confirm the print repeat and the eye marks your packaging machine reads.

Four colours, one after another.
Cyan, magenta, yellow and black go down one at a time as the web passes under each print head.
Together they make the full range of colours in your artwork. The press is digital, so there are no printing plates, and serial numbers, codes and lot details can change from one labelblisterpack to the next in the same pass. Codes & variable data

Cured and protected.
UV light sets the ink in an instant, then a coating goes on over the print.
On labels it’s a varnish or laminate, which guards the print against scuffs and moisture. On lidding foil it’s a protective lacquer, which also helps the sealing tool release cleanly. On film it protects the print on its way through your packaging line.

04 Labels only
Cut to shape.
A rotary die cuts each label through the face stock, without cutting the liner underneath.Lidding foil and film skip this step. The die stays clear of the web.
The die is made for your label’s size and shape, so rounded corners, ovals and custom shapes all come off the same press.Switch the press to Label to see a label cut.
-
05 Labels only
The waste lifts away.
The material around the labels, called the matrix, peels off and winds onto a waste roll.Nothing to strip. The web runs straight on to the slitter.
What’s left is clean labels on the liner, evenly spaced for your applicator.Lidding foil and film come off the press as one continuous printed web.
-
06
Slit to your width.
Rotary knives cut the web into lanes at the width your machine takes.
Each lane winds onto its own roll, so one pass through the press makes several finished rolls.
-
07
Checked and wound.
A camera checks the print before the web is rewound.
Each roll is wound to your core size and roll diameter, with the labels coming off the way your applicator needs, then labelled and packed. How we inspect · Choosing an unwind direction
