Neek Coating Ltd. incorporated in Calgary, Alberta.
Neek was set up as a Canadian company with one clear focus: printing labels, lidding foil and packaging film on the roll for brands that want a supplier close to home. The first year went into groundwork, from the product range to the standards a printer for food and health products has to meet.

A head office and a team of three
Head office established in Calgary. Team grows to three full-time employees.
Our Calgary head office is the base for sales, materials sourcing and planning. The team works across all three, so brands talk directly with the people planning their work rather than passing through layers of account managers.

First customer conversations with Western Canadian food, beverage and health-product brands.
We’ve been asking brands across Western Canada about their labels, lidding foil and packaging film: what they order, how long they wait and what they would change. Those conversations are shaping the materials and services we’re lining up.

Evaluating presses
Equipment evaluation underway with leading North American and European press manufacturers.
We’re comparing presses on print quality, the range of substrates they run, changeover time and how well they suit documented, regulated work. The press decides what we can offer for years, so we’re taking the time to choose well.

Searching for a facility
Calgary production facility search underway. Final site selection will follow equipment selection.
We’re assessing industrial spaces in Calgary against the layout that pharmaceutical packaging needs: clean material flow, controlled production areas and room to grow. Because the press shapes the floor plan, the site comes after the equipment.

Our own facility and press
Production facility and in-house press installation.
With our own press in a Calgary facility, we’ll print labels, lidding foil and packaging film in-house, with shorter lead times and closer control over every run. It’s the next step in building toward GMP-compliant pharmaceutical packaging.
